Muenchberg means the “mountain of the monks” and was first planted in the 12 century by the Cistercians monks. The Muenchberg is one of the most unique Grand Cru of Alsace because of its very particular soil (red sandstone and volcanic sediments).
The distinctive Pinot Gris “sap” is at its top expression, with a fine and savoury minerality, and the floral and spicy finish is everlasting and extremely elegant.
This wine became famous internationally under the name “A360P” which is the cadastral name of the Pinot Gris plot. In fact, for some of the vintages the AOC approval committees refused to grant it the right of being named under its real name: MUENCHBERG Grand Cru, because of “atypical woodiness”!!
*Please note that wines may not be available due to demand and wine vintages are subjected to changes.
